Police searching for Addison bank robber

Addison police are searching for a man who robbed an Oxford Bank at gunpoint Thursday night on the 1500 block of West Lake Street.

Deputy Chief Mike Simo said the man entered the bank about 7 p.m., showed the teller a black handgun, and demanded money.

The teller handed over an undisclosed amount of cash and the robber fled on foot, Simo said.

Police arrived at the bank moments after the robbery and searched unsuccessfully for the robber.

Simo said the suspect is a white male, standing about 5 feet, 2 inches tall with a thin build. He was wearing tan pants and a brown jacket.

He said the FBI also is working on the investigation.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (630) 543-3080.
