Warm up the chilly month of February with a hot Mardi Gras party that will benefit children with special needs from 7 p.m. to midnight Friday, Feb. 17, at St. Andrews Golf and Country Club in West Chicago.

This festive event will be emceed by Geneva Mayor Kevin Burns and includes dinner, wine and dancing, as well as a Mardi Gras parade and a silent auction featuring gift certificates, baskets, and hotel packages.

Dinner will be accompanied by jazz music, followed by the rocking sounds of Red Woody after dinner.

The Mardi Gras Gala is sponsored by Blazing Prairie Stars Friends, a nonprofit organization that supports horse-assisted therapy for children with medical and financial needs.

All proceeds will provide therapy scholarships directly to children and families.
