Would Jesus support Obama’s agenda?

In a recent speech, President Barack Obama proffered the opinion that Jesus would support his political agenda, which includes taxation and massive spending on countless social programs. In other words, Christians have a moral obligation to vote for the Democratic Party.

I don’t think so. President Obama seems to have forgotten that salvation does not come from Caesar. During Jesus’ time in Palestine, tax collectors had the same moral status as prostitutes. Salvation comes from faith in Jesus.

If President Obama and his Democratic Party really believe that the federal government’s job is to ensure salvation for the citizens of the U.S., then their massive social programs must include intensive educational programs in Christian doctrine and salvation theology.

Clearly, Democratic ideology is rapidly moving in the other direction.
