Americans need to speak up more
Once again the public exercised it muscle by speaking out against the indiscretion toward the majority through its voice and its wallets. This was a strong message to another corporation. Susan G. Komen charity felt the wrath of the people applying pressure for their actions when they announced they were ending funding support for Planned Parenthood, an organization which has supported women’s health needs.
Peaceful voices of reason which spoke back to Susan G. Komen by potentially removing financial contributions to the charity quickly forced them to reverse their decision. Hooray for Planned Parenthood. Another one for the people.
First, Bank of America, then Verizon and now a charity has felt the strength of the American public’s opinion. If corporations chose to alienate the citizens of this country by forces of greed and insult they should expect retaliation for there deeds.
People, pay attention to what is going on in this country, When we the people speak, we can make a difference. Get energized, join in the action to right wrongs, quit being apathetic. This is still our country and we decide through organizing efforts to make a difference.
Next: The coming election when we can voice our displeasure with a Congress, which has been inept and derelict in service to the needs of the general public. We can get the election process corrected by getting out big money, which is trying to buy elections. It starts by removing those in office who are guilty of using these tools for their own gain. Elect candidates who have the American people in mind and not just a select group or their friends.
Speak, America, speak.
