Van strikes, kills man in Bartlett
A 41-year-old Roselle man died Saturday after being struck by a vehicle while he was attempting to cross Route 20 in Bartlett, police said Sunday.
Marek Sibiga was crossing the four lane roadway from a motel in the 300 block of Lake Street about 5:45 p.m. when a westbound 2005 Dodge van hit him, according to police.
Sibiga was taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
The Bartlett Police Department continue to investigate the crash, but said neither charges nor citations are expected against the driver of the van. Police are awaiting the results of toxicology tests.
The driver and passenger of the van were not injured.
