E.G.H.S. speech’s Cavazos is MSL coach of year

Elk Grove High School head speech team coach Chuck Cavazos was voted Mid Suburban League Coach of the Year at the MSL conference tournament at Harper College Jan. 28.

The following Elk Grove students were MSL conference finalists: senior Cheryl Victuelles, sixth place in radio speaking; senior Allen Fearing, fifth place in original comedy; seniors Christina Erbacci and Allen Fearing, fourth place in humorous duet acting; and junior Grace Allen and sophomore Dustin Beelow, third place in dramatic duet acting.

On Jan. 17-18, the E.G.H.S. speech team competed at the Downers Grove South High School Invitational, the state’s largest invitational meet, where the following students advanced to the semifinal round: junior Marissa Cozzi in prose reading; and juniors Celine Hall and Daniel Nikov in dramatic duet acting.
