Cut Obama slack on his vacation

This is a response to the inaccurate letter from W. Parrot Jan. 25 berating the President for going on a taxpayer paid vacation.

First of all, the president who caused this downward economy, George Bush, spent more time on vacation than any previous president in history. Fact.

Second, if you were a little informed, you would know that all presidents pay for the cost of the vacation home that is being rented for their vacation — not the taxpayer.

Third, if the do-nothing Republican Congress can get a three-week recess, after doing nothing, with an approval rating of 11 percent, than I think the leader of the free world can get a couple of weeks off.

Fourth, after approving the killing of Bin Laden, approving the latest Navy Seal rescue of an American by Somali pirates, removing troops from Iraq and turning the runaway freight train of an economy that he inherited from a do-nothing Republican-controlled White House and Congress; overseeing an improving economy and stock market, new home starts, fighting for the middle class, President Obama deserves some time with his family.

Fifth, based on the latest field of Republican candidates available, you should get used to another four years of President Obama.
