Bartlett’s Dobek to kick for Butler
Bartlett kicker Ian Dobek gave his commitment to Butler University Tuesday to play football for the Bulldogs.
Dobek had been considering multiple Division III schools when the FCS Bulldogs joined the mix in December.
“I started talking with the coach a week before Christmas and I went for a visit two weekends ago,” said Dobek of the Indianapolis campus. “I loved everything about it and I liked the coaches very much, but it came down to academics for me. That’s the biggest thing.”
A student with a 3.8 grade-point average who plans to major in exercise science, Dobek made 5 of 8 field-goal attempts last season with a long of 46 yards against Wheaton North. His 57 kickoffs resulted in 25 touchbacks.
