Wishes Mark Kirk a very speedy recovery

I am taking some moments to pen these general notes on behalf of the Village of Mount Prospect and on behalf of those of us who know U.S. Sen. Mark Kirk as a political friend and as a fighter. Our thoughts and prayers are with Senator Kirk, his family, friends, many respected colleagues and especially his doctors and nurses as they help this man mend.

Before he was elected Senator, the village was fortunate to have had Mark Kirk as its congressman, who represented us in the 10th District in the U.S. House of Representatives. He loved to call together mayors in the 10th to listen to our concerns, then to explain his agenda to fight Lake Michigan pollution, or gangs or anything which could make a difference for us.

As Senator, he brings that same intellect, that same fight for the principals of good government and a bipartisan approach to an agenda that can only get done with everyone working together. He is a political street fighter who after the campaign is done, works with his opponents for the best government. He now is working on a Lincoln Legacy Infrastructure Act for Illinois.

This is our wish for this fighter: “May your swift recovery startle your doctors!”
