WRS band earns superior rating at jazz festival

On Saturday, January 21, Walter R. Sundling Junior High's jazz band participated in the 35th Annual Northshore Jazz Festival at Glenbrook South High School in Glenview.

The WRS Jazz Band was awarded a superior rating and tied for third place out of the 15 participating bands.

Also, Nate Carlson, an eighth-grade trombone player, was awarded an outstanding soloist award at the festival.
