U-46 School News for Week of Jan. 30

Elgin High School

On Wednesday at 7 p.m., the Eastside “Pride” Choral Concert will be presented in the auditorium at Elgin High School. Participating schools are: Elgin High, Ellis Middle, Larsen Middle, Lords Park, Timber Trails, Coleman, Sheridan, Hilltop, Lincoln and McKinley elementary schools. Admission is $1 per student, $2 per adult, and $6 per family. Seniors 62 and over with I.D. will be admitted free.

Streamwood High School

On Thursday, the “Mr. Sabre” contest will be held at 7 p.m. Senior boys will be judged on formal wear, talent, pick up line and Q & A. They will also perform a group dance. Please contact Ellen at 630-213-5500, x.8634 or Erin at x.8612.

Tefft Middle School

On Thursday, all students who made the Principal's List or Honor Roll for the 2nd quarter will be treated to ice cream sundaes during their lunch period. This event is sponsored by the Student Council.

Lincoln Elementary

On Monday, a Dual Language informational meeting for parents will be held in the gym at 6 p.m.

This meeting is for parents of currently enrolled kindergarten students and incoming kindergarten students for the upcoming school year.

Wayne Elementary

On Saturday, a Father/Daughter Dance will be held at 7 p.m. in the school gym.

U-46 Planetarium

On Tuesday at 6 p.m. and 7 p.m., the U-46 Planetarium proudly presents: “Earth, Moon and Sun.” This is a 25 minute FULL DOME show investigating the relationships between Earth and its most obvious neighbors in space. The winter sky under the stars and a brief history of the building will also be included. The show is geared towards grades 2-8, but is appropriate for all audiences. Admission is $3 per person or $10 per family.

The planetarium is located at 312 Watch St. near the corner of Raymond St. There is free parking one block away at Raymond and Watch St. There is no parking in front of the building. No reservations are being taken. For more information, please call 847-888-5324.
