BGHS actors take on Neil Simon comedy 'Rumors'

Buffalo Grove High School is proud to present Neil Simon's zany farce, “Rumors,” Thursday through Saturday, Jan. 26-28, in the school's Miller Theater.

Performances are at 7 p.m. Thursday and 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday.

Four couples (Paige Larkowski and Chris Cooper, Natalie Kozelka and Dan Esquivel, Tyler “Benson” Nelson and Sophia Kravets, and Alex Masciopinto and Michelle Oleary), are at the townhouse of the deputy New York City mayor and his wife to celebrate the couple's 10th wedding anniversary. The party never begins because the host has shot himself in the head (never fear, it's only a flesh wound!), and his wife is missing. His lawyer's cover-up gets progressively more difficult to sustain as the other guests arrive and nobody can remember who has been told what about whom. Other featured cast members are Nick Sorgani and Lia Rose Frykman.

According to director Brian Denesha, “We are taking a hard — however, comedic — look at how damaging a rumor can be to one person or even a whole group of people.

“Our amazing cast and crew have spent countless hours creating and working together to bring levity and humor to this show.”

Technical director/scenic designer is Ed Moon, costumes and makeup are coordinated by Debbie Andres and Betsy Ludemann is the house manager.

Tickets are $5 at the door. Call (847) 718-4000.
