Don’t disregard candidates’ beliefs
In a Jan. 15 Letter to the Fence Post, Frank G. Salvantini says he’s confused and asks why we as citizens infuse the candidates’ personal beliefs into our decisions in voting for this person or that person. I believe it is important to know what makes the candidate who they are so we can, as citizens, make an informed decision when we vote.
Some candidates carry a lot of baggage, some vacillate, some give false witness, some really stand out showing their inner self with very high moral values, and then there are some candidates who will sell their souls to get elected.
It is confusing when lies interfere with the truth. When I vote, I’ll ask God to help me make an informed decision voting within the guidelines of the Ten Commandments. So far, my vote is with the person who lives his faith to the fullest in his personal and public life.
Isn’t this what this country needs? There is no confusion when you have truth on your side. Personal beliefs are relevant.
