Friendship Village's 35th anniversary celebration date changed
Friendship Village of Schaumburg is celebrating its 35th anniversary through a series of programs, events and honors which will begin in February and continue throughout the year. Please note, the festivities originally scheduled for Jan. 17 have been changed to Feb. 17.
The celebration will kick off with the 35th anniversary and centenarian celebration in Assembly Hall. State Rep. Michelle Mussman, Schaumburg Village President Al Larson, Cook County Commissioner Timothy O. Schneider and other dignitaries have been invited to share their congratulations and formal proclamations to Friendship Village for its invaluable presence in the community.
The opening ceremony will also honor Friendship Village's 18 centenarians who are celebrating their birthdays of 100 years or more during 2012. Six associates who have worked at Friendship Village for 30 years or more will also be recognized. The program will close with a special anniversary video and refreshments.
Residents and associates will have the opportunity throughout the day, to participate in an online experience event. Representatives from Ivy Marketing Group will be on hand to help residents record and post their favorite memories of Friendship Village. These recollections will be posted on Friendship Village's website.
For residents of Friendship Village, other celebratory events will include meal service featuring "Dining Across the Decades," sessions of Family Feud Friendship Village Style held across campus, a 1970s disco party and more.
