Mount Prospect man sentenced to prison for 4th DUI

A 43-year-old Mount Prospect man will be doing prison time after pleading guilty to his fourth DUI Thursday in Rolling Meadows.

In exchange for the guilty plea, a Cook County judge sentenced Gonzalo Rodriguez, of the 1700 block of Chariot Court, to three years in prison.

Police charged Rodriguez with aggravated DUI after they stopped him driving 60 mph in a 40 mph zone on Mount Prospect’s Busse Road. Gonzalez failed field sobriety tests and later registered a blood alcohol content of .214, authorities said. During his August bond hearing, prosecutors said Gonzalez had been convicted of misdemeanor DUI in 1996 and 2001, felony DUI in 2003 and reckless driving in 2001.

Gonzalez must complete at least 50 percent of his sentence before he is eligible for release.
