Trial run for summer camp:

The Lake County Forest Preserve District will host a free summer camp sneak peek event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14 at the Lakewood winter sports area in Wauconda. Activities include campfire cooking, animal tracking, ice fishing and techniques, and water science, and provide a glimpse of summer camp. The event is designed for first-time summer campers or families and parents who have questions. Camp registration is offered and staff will be on hand for questions.
