Grading the Bears

Game ball

He's no Caleb Hanie or Josh McCown, and for that Aaron Rodgers will be beloved in Green Bay for years to come. The guy is one cool cat back there: 5 TDs and no picks Sunday and the move of the night on Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs. Oh, and he finished with a 142.7 passer rating.

Offense

Quarterback 3 balls

Not too shabby a performance for a guy who hadn't started an NFL game since 2007. Unlike Hanie, McCown looked like he knew what he was doing back there — aside from his pass to GB's Clay Matthews. He gets an extra ball for his headfirst dive to recover a fumble.

Running backs 4 balls

Kahlil Bell was simply dominant in the first half when the Bears still were in the game. For the evening, Bell and fourth-string Armando Allen rushed for more than 160 yards combined.

Receivers 3 balls

As hard as it may be to do, kudos to Roy Williams, who led the way with 6 catches for 81 yards. Just as improbable was the return of Earl Bennett, who only had 1 catch, but it was for 49 yards and nearly resulted in a TD.

Offensive line 3 balls

The Bears outrushed the Packers by a huge margin and McCown wasn't under too much pressure all night. Roberto Garza is a pulling machine.

Defense

Defensive line 1 ball

And it goes go to Julius Peppers. Memo to Jerry Angelo … the line needs help.

Linebackers 2 balls

The memory of the night will be Aaron Rodgers juking Brian Urlacher and Lance Briggs.

Secondary 1 ball

Aaron Rodgers threw for 5 touchdowns. Nuff said.

Special teams 2 balls

Suddenly, in the eyes of opponents, Devin Hester's fear factor has morphed into a nonfactor. Also, Robbie Gould had pair of kickoffs go out of bounds. Not good.

Coaching 2.5 balls

Mike Martz called a heck of a game considering the weapons he had in his arsenal. On the defensive side? Eh, not so much.
