Man charged in Lake in the Hills stabbing

Authorities found a man bleeding from his neck in front of a Lake in the Hills home after he was stabbed Friday afternoon.

The stabbing was the result of a domestic dispute that took place about 12:30 p.m. on the 2800 block of Melbourne Lane, according to Lake in the Hills police.

Officials announced Friday night they had arrested and charged Daniel V. DeFrancisco, 25, who lives at the house, with aggravated domestic battery, aggravated battery and domestic battery. The victim, whose relationship to DeFrancisco is not known, was transported to the hospital. His condition was not released.

Authorities had cordoned off the scene Friday while they interviewed witnesses. Blood could be seen spattered on the driveway, next to a cloth and cellphone.

DeFrancisco was transported to the McHenry County jail, where he'll await a bond hearing.
