Island Lake helps needy families:

Island Lake’s “Operation Milk Jug” charity program raised more than $1,750 during the holiday season to buy 15 Thanksgiving and 20 Christmas meals for needy families, officials announced. Donations were collected in milk jugs placed at local businesses and village hall. Families with children will get clothes and toys, too.
