Politicians should learn lessons of war

To all the men and women coming home from the war: A very heartfelt Welcome Home and a grateful Thank You for your sacrifices.

To the elected officials in Washington: a very heartfelt shame on you. You make a mockery of the sacrifices our men, women and their families have given to this country. I have complaints against the entire political system, but I will focus on the Republicans for the following reason: You are paid by the taxpayers to do a job, not to grandstand and work to sabotage the existing president at every step of the way. Not to state that your primary purpose is to make President Obama a one term president.

I would like to ask CEOs, how long you would continue to employ an individual who you hired to perform for your company if he simply continued to rant about wanting to replace you and not get any meaningful work done for your company?

Now to the Congress as a whole: Since you do not know what team effort means or what compromise means, perhaps we should fire all of you and replace you with the men and women who have come back from combat. They learned how to work as a team, because their lives depended on it. Well our country’s survival depends on teamwork.

Maybe we should send all of you to Afghanistan. There you would learn about teamwork and cooperation. I would have prefaced this with the following statement: This message applies to those who are guilty of this behavior, not to the elected officials who work hard to represent us, but I doubted the guilty ones would be able to identify themselves as the culprits.
