Poll Vault: What kinds of cookies do you make for the holidays?

The Daily Herald newsroom is a sweet place each December, as it becomes a repository for Christmas cookies.

Employees bring in baked treats, and vendors also send us goody baskets for the holidays. (Ethical disclosure: We eat the food, but we put swag such as books, toys and DVDs in a sale to benefit charity.)

Yesterday, my co-worker Kathleen arrived with not one but two kinds of holiday cookies in tow: M&M chip and cranberry-orange-walnut.

Next week, I'll bring in pizzelles, an Italian waffle cookie that the women in my husband's family make each year. We'll have our pizzelle irons heated up on Sunday.

What cookies do you make for the holidays? Do you have a baking ritual? Please share your traditions.
