Suburbia's Got Talent: Lake Park H. students' rap video

For homecoming, Lake Park High School students Helen Gilley, Caitlin Valazquez, Amanda Bergeron and Katie Perry decided to produce a rap video and enter it in the school's annual King Of The Couch contest.

Winning the contest would earn them pizza and the right to enjoy the homecoming game from the sidelines on a comfortable couch. Gilley says the main thing they wanted, though, was to have their video played at the homecoming pep rally in front of hundreds or even thousands of their classmates. They planned it for three weeks, shot it with the help of extras, and spent hours editing it.

It all paid off because they won the contest and received cheers during its premiere. It was also played at the homecoming dance and at a later teacher talent show, Gilley says.
