Library patrons, staff help make holidays bright for local families
This holiday season will be brighter for some Glendale Heights families thanks to the generosity of the Glenside Public Library District patrons and staff.
The library served as a drop-off site for the village's recent food drive, which is a part of their Christmas Sharing program and collected over 12 boxes of food and other pantry items.
In addition, the library staff adopted a local family and donated clothes, toys and other items on the family's wish list.
Vince Sovanski, the library's Community Ambassador and School Specialist noted that Christmas Sharing is something the library happily participates in every year.
“Even in these difficult economic times, we have very generous patrons. The donated food and toiletries will be greatly appreciated by the families that receive them. Many of our staff members look forward to helping with this worthwhile cause.”
The library is located at 25 E. Fullerton Ave in Glendale Heights. For more information, visit our website at www.glensidepld.org or call (630) 260-1550.
