Batavia Park District invites residents to complete community engagement survey

The Batavia Park District has entered a comprehensive strategic planning process to identify the key programming, facility and maintenance issues moving forward. The District wrapped up the first phase of the process this summer when numerous community engagement meetings were held throughout Batavia.

During these meetings, residents offered their thoughts on current and future programming. "It's clear there is still a great desire to add more aquatics and fitness programming down the road," stated Director of Marketing and Public Relations Allison Niemela. She added, "Our residents were very clear they would like to see a well conceived plan when the timing is right. They also would like to be a part of the discussion from the very first step. We are listening."

The District is now entering the survey portion of the process and invites the entire community to assist in developing the next phase of the comprehensive strategic plan. The District needs your help to address the critical issues within the community - what you think are the priorities and what should be the new vision. Your attitudes, interests, needs and opinions will create a new vision and provide the Board and staff with a focused direction. Staff will also be conducting feedback about the District's Web site as well. You are encouraged to participate in this opportunity so your voice can be heard.

A short survey is posted on the home page of the Batavia Park District Web site at www.bataviaparks.org. A hard copy of the survey is also available in the winter Fun Guide, at the Park District Civic Center, 327 W. Wilson St., and the Eastside Community Center, 14 N. Van Buren St. Surveys can be returned to drop boxes located at the Civic Center, the Eastside Community Center and the Batavia Depot Museum, 155 Houston St.

Residents are invited to take a few minutes to complete the survey and return it by December 31. Findings will be reported at the completion of the process on the District's Web site at www.bataviaparks.org.
