Casinos are likely places for trouble

I read in today’s Daily Herald in the 11/22 blotter section, yet another negative incident coming out of the Des Plaines Rivers Casino gambling facility.

Since its opening, I have heard more con than pro aspects coming from it. This time, a security agent confronted a patron on leaving Hugo’s Frog Bar. And who can forget the Devin Hester head slap of six weeks ago.

These kind of establishments thrive on these kind of individuals, strip bars included. Anytime a lack of better things to do and alcohol or drugs are mixed, most times this is the result. I never heard of this coming from let’s say, a Border’s store, which closed in Mount Prospect around the same time the casino opened in Des Plaines.

And how quickly the casino was built to include widening River Road, and raising it so it does not go underwater in case of another flood. Other types of constructions take forever around here. I think I will go over to the old Border’s and look in to reminisce.
