Tax those who draw hefty pensions
In all the stories about school and municipal employee pay and perks, why is it never mentioned that all the retirement pay (often $200,000-plus) is free of Illinois income tax, now at 5 percent? I believe this is a perk that legislators could readily change. Just change the rules so that retirement pay over $50,000 (or such) becomes taxable income in Illinois.
