Armed robbery outside Schaumburg bank

Schaumburg police are searching for a man who robbed a woman at gunpoint Monday morning shortly after she walked out of a bank on the 800 block of East Higgins Road.

Police Sgt. John Nebl said the woman had just left the bank about 11:30 a.m. when the suspect approached her in the parking lot and displayed a handgun. The man took unspecified property from the woman then fled the scene in a small, black four-door vehicle.

The woman was not injured, Nebl said. Further details of the investigation are expected to be released Tuesday.
