Seeing red over red light ticket

I received a red light violation notice. I feel it is my duty to inform the many who are unaware of this travesty before several others are taken in. Our government is again trying take money by forcing us to pay for their law, not good behavior.

Did you know the white lines at the traffic light stops are not for the protection of going too far into the intersection, which may cause an accident? This is what I unsuspectingly thought was for the safety of every car entering the intersection.

No, our government has found a new way to demand a donation — by means of a red light violation — if you stop before crossing the white line. The law reads stop after the white line, which then you are more apt of putting other cars in fear and proximity to an accident; but whatever, you will be free of a red light violation.

Yep, I stopped in front of the white line, then proceeded into my right turn and received the ticket for $100 to the Winfield photo enforcement program. No sidewalks in sight, a three-corner grassy area; the fourth kitty corner was a gas station. But what a danger I was to others; with no pedestrians or highway area and me with my good safety record of many years of clean, no-ticket driving.

I’m sorry, society. I will try to be more aggressive and cross the white line.

Because with my husband and me both on Social Security, we can’t afford another $100 demanded donation to Winfield.

For my fellow citizens, can we get a picture of those who made legislation of this law, with names, or who personally elected them to that office? A good ad for those voting against them.
