U-46 School News for Week of Dec. 5

Larkin High School

On Tuesday, a Choral Concert will be performed at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

On Thursday, a fall Orchestra Concert will be performed at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium. Admission for both events is $1 per student, $2 per adult and $6 per family.

South Elgin High School

On Wednesday, the Holiday Music Concert will be held at 7 p.m. in the auditorium. Featured ensembles include: Women's Chorus, Concert Choir, L'Orage Show Choir, Harmonics Men's Choir along with Men of Note (elementary school “Little Brothers”), Concert Orchestra, and the Transitions Choir along with members of the SEHS Chamber Ensemble.

On Friday and Saturday, the Madrigal Dinner will be presented in the auditorium lobby of the school. Friday's performance begins at 6 p.m. Saturday's performance begins at 4 p.m. The Chamber choir and orchestra will be featured. The women's choir will also perform as part of the Renaissance Troupe.

Abbott Middle School, Kimball Middle School, Larkin High School

On Tuesday, singers from these three schools will perform old and new Holiday classics at 7:30 p.m. in the Larkin auditorium. Admission is $1 per student, $2 per adult and $6 per family.

Abbott Middle School

On Thursday, band students from Abbott will combine with sixth-grade band students from Harriet Gifford, Lowrie, Otter Creek and Washington elementary schools to present a concert at 7 p.m. in the Abbott gym. Admission is $1 per student, $2 per adult and $6 per family. Tickets will be sold at the door.

Canton Middle School

On Thursday, Canton band students will join the feeder elementary schools (Glenbrook, Hanover Countryside, Hilltop, Oakhill and Ridge Circle) for a Band Concert at 6:30 p.m. in the Canton gym.

Larsen Middle School

On Tuesday, the beginner band students from the feeder schools (Coleman, Lincoln, McKinley, Sheridan, and Timber Trails) will join with the beginner orchestra students to present a concert at 7 p.m. in the gym.

On Wednesday, the Winter Holiday Band Concert will be held in the auditorium at 7 p.m.

On Thursday, the Intermediate Orchestra Concert will be presented in the auditorium at 7 p.m.

On Friday, the school will hold a Craft/Vendor Fair from 5-9 p.m. in the school gym. There will be vendors selling great items for holiday gift giving including 18” doll clothes & accessories, jewelry, Scentsy flameless candles, Tupperware, Stampin' Up, handmade cards & tags, handmade flowers, Lia Sophia jewelry, purses, wallets, hair accessories, Partylite, Tastefully Simple food products, and more!! Great raffle prizes will be available from the crafters and vendors. Drinks & snack items will be available for purchase. All proceeds from the sale support teacher and student activities.

Tefft Middle School

On Wednesday, a Holiday Music Festival will be presented at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium. This event features the Band, Orchestra, and chorus. Admission is $1 per student, $2 per adult and $6 per family. Pre-school children and senior citizens are free.

On Friday, a School Dance will be held from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Student tickets may be purchased during lunch hour for $4.

Heritage Elementary

On Monday through Friday during school hours, the annual Holiday Shop will be available for the students to buy gifts for their families.

On Friday, Dessert with Santa will be held from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Come and eat cookies with Santa and have your picture taken.

Independence Center for Early Learners

On Wednesday, Mall in the Hall Craft Fair will be held from 4-7 p.m. Admission is $1 and includes a raffle ticket. For further information or to reserve a craft table for $12, please call Stephanie at 630-213-5629. The school is located at 200 Taylor St. in Bartlett.

Laurel Hill Elementary

On Thursday, an ELL Parent Workshop will be held from 6-7 p.m. in the multi-purpose room. Babysitting will be provided. Parents need to pre-register for this workshop.

On Friday, the PTLH sponsored Family Movie Night will take place at 6:30 p.m. in the gym. Popcorn and other fun food will be available for purchase. Students are encouraged to wear their pajamas and bring their pillow and blanket.

Liberty Elementary

On Thursday, dine at Nicodino's Restaurant from 9 a.m.-10 p.m. Take the day off from cooking and support Liberty at the same time.

Otter Creek Elementary

On Thursday, dine at Pot Belly's restaurant from 5-8 p.m. Part of the sales go to the school.

Prairieview Elementary

On Monday, a Holiday Sing will be held from 6:00-8:30 p.m. at Bartlett High School.

Sheridan Elementary

On Friday, the SWAS 6th grade students will present their Ancient Egyptian Living Wax Museum. It will be held in the multi-purpose room from 1:15-2:00 p.m.
