Director Tracy Adams is delighted to be heading back to the wonderful facility at BFAC having choreographed for BHS's "Beauty and the Beast." She is "so proud of the dancer's achievements and is excited for them to experience the magic of sharing their performance with the community" as they tell this timeless tale of a young girl's dream, in swirls of colorful music and dance.

Clara's ( played by 13-year-old Aurora resident Ellie Sheldon) magical toymaker godfather, Herr Drosselmeyer ( played by Oswegan Randy Knott), presents her with her own wooden Nutcracker at the family Christmas Party. Her brother Fritz ( played by 6-year-old Finley Culloton from West Chicago) is unimpressed with his “Mouse” gift and jealously breaks the Nutcracker. Clara has fallen in love with her Nutcracker and after Drosselmeyer mends it, she creeps back to the Christmas Tree after the party and to her Nutcracker. She falls asleep and dreams of saving her Nutcracker Prince (Genevan Connor Colbert) in a battle between mice and soldiers for which he rewards her with a trip to his kingdom through The Land of Snow to Candyland, where she meets his Sugar Plum Fairy ( Elizabeth Koskiewicz -also from Geneva and a DE dancer from the age of 5) and is heralded by a feastful array of fanciful fairies, flowers and confection. Show run time estimate – 2 hours.
