Dist. 15 holds public forum on fixing deficit

Palatine Township Elementary District 15 is hosting an informational forum from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, at Sundling Junior High, 1100 N. Smith St., Palatine, to help develop a consensus on how to correct the district’s structural deficit.

Officials will explain the district’s current economic situation and show how its finances compare to other districts around the state. They’ll also outline how District 15’s budget is developed by explaining where it gets its funding, how it spends that money and why it maintains cash reserves.

A forum for staff will be held beforehand.

Additional forums will be held in January to provide opportunities for feedback and prioritize potential budget reductions. For more information, call (847) 963-3000 or visit ccsd15.net.
