Barrington firefighters urge holiday safety
The Barrington Fire Department and Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District are again participating in the public awareness program, “Keep the Wreath Red.”
Festive wreaths displayed at the agencies’ three fire stations in Barrington, Barrington Hills and Lake Barrington will begin the season illuminated with red light bulbs. Firefighters will replace a red bulb with a white one for each fire caused by holiday decorations.
No such fires have occurred in Barrington or the district for the past six years, Fire Chief James Arie said.
