Bears waive Iwuh, promote Trahan

The Chicago Bears elevated linebacker Patrick Trahan to the 53-man active roster from the practice squad after waiving injured linebacker Brian Iwuh.

Trahan has spent the last two seasons on the practice squads of the Bears (2011) and Titans (2010) after entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Tennessee out of Ole Miss. In college, Trahan had 98 tackles, seven sacks, 16.5 tackles for losses, two interceptions and three forced fumbles in 26 games (15 starts at weakside linebacker) during two seasons at Ole Miss (2008-09).

Iwuh spent two seasons with the Bears recording 32 special teams tackles, including a team-high 14 this season. For his NFL career, Iwuh had 93 special teams stops with the Jaguars (2006-09) and Bears, also recording 80 defensive tackles in 85 games played.
