Soldier stories sharp contrast to others
Kudos to the Daily Herald for retelling the stories of the brave soldiers killed in action. The sacrifices that the soldiers and their families make should never be forgotten. I am struck by the contrast between them and the politicians of both parties in D.C. and Springfield.
On the one side, selfless courage, and on the other shameless corruption and a willingness to do anything, no matter how harmful to the country, just for the sake of votes.
The last administration spent like crazy and started wars without a plan to get out. The current one spends much worse, cannot cut anything (what happened to “going line by line to cut waste?”), hates business, and on a regular basis tells us who we must hate — banks, oil companies, doctors, hospitals, insurance companies, drug companies, etc. Then we have members of both parties engaging in insider trading, which would put anyone else in prison, yet for them it is legal.
In Springfield both parties steal money that should have been used to fund pensions, and then gutlessly refuse to fix the structural problems that have bankrupted the state. Is it not past time for term limits?
