New Eagle Scouts in Buffalo Grove

Three Stevenson High School students are among six members of Boy Scout Troop 140 at St. Mary Parish in Buffalo Grove who will earn Eagle Scout ranks on Sunday, school officials announced.

Stevenson seniors Joseph Salvesen and Austin Peters, and sophomore Maxwell Liebl will become Eagle Scouts.

Only 4 percent of Boy Scouts nationwide earn the rank. Each Scout must earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, successfully plan and execute a service project for a nonprofit organization, hold various leadership positions within the troop, and pass an Eagle board of review.
