Dist. 15 to continue yearlong student internships

Palatine Township Elementary District 15 officials say they’ll continue a partnership with Illinois State University’s College of Education, in which students have a yearlong internship rather than a 16-week student teaching experience. Mary Zarr, assistant superintendent for curriculum, special services and school improvement, recently raved about the difference ISU’s seven students currently are making in the program’s first year. She added that there’s even more interest for next year. The students work under the supervision of Ann Bokor, District 15’s Professional Development School site coordinator and liaison to ISU’s Department of Curriculum and Instruction.
