District 214 holiday auction starts Thursday

Holiday shoppers can get in the spirit from home with the annual online auction sponsored by Northwest Suburban District 214 Community Education Foundation, starting at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving Day.

Bidding will be done through eBay for tickets to sporting events, romantic getaways, hotel stays, golf packages and more. Shoppers also can bid on autographed sports memorabilia and pictures signed by celebrities from Justin Bieber to the stars of Harry Potter.

Proceeds from the auction will support District 214 Community Education programs including, English as a Second Language (ESL) for adults, the Women’s & Children’s Center, Kids on Track, Adult Education & Family Literacy, Adult Basic Education, Cultural and Performing Arts, and Intergenerational programs.
