What a wonderful Veterans Day program!

My husband and I attended a “Salute to Veterans” presentation at MacArthur Middle School this morning. What a joyous occasion. We were overwhelmed by meeting the helpful and courteous students, and the touching program performed by the talented members of the band, choir, and orchestra.

From the moment we walked into the school, we felt welcomed by Mr. Lee, the principal, and all his staff we met along the way. The musical program was outstanding as was the breakfast served by the smiling students and moms.

We were overjoyed when the choir sang “God Bless America” with gusto and asked the attendees to join in singing. It is, after all, what this day is all about. No one worried if it was politically correct or not!

Thank you to everyone at MacArthur who made the day very special for all the veterans in attendance. What a wonderful lesson these children are being taught: How lucky we all are to live in this free country!
