Wisconsin man gets probation in marijuana case
A Twin Lakes, Wis., man was sentenced to one year on probation Monday after he admitted possessing about three ounces of marijuana police found in his car.
Eric Fahrner, 42, was also fined $700 and ordered to perform 150 hours of public service after pleading guilty to possession of marijuana in Lake County Circuit Court.
Assistant State’s Attorney Rod Drobinski said Fahrner was hired to move some property out of a residence in the 38000 block of North Primrose Path in Spring Grove that was the subject of a landlord-tenant dispute.
On Sept. 2, the owner of the property saw Fahrner carrying things out of the apartment and called Lake County sheriff’s police.
The deputy who arrived smelled marijuana, and Fahrner admitted he had just smoked some and had more in his car.
Nearly three ounces of the drug was found in a plastic bag between the seats in the front of the car.
Drobinski said Fahrner could have been sentenced to up to three years in prison if convicted after a trial.
