Camper trailer catches fire near Roselle
A camper trailer that caught fire in unincorporated Bloomingdale Township was quickly extinguished by fire personnel Friday night, authorities said.
The fire was reported at 7:52 p.m. in a residential area east of Rodenburg Road and south of the Schaumburg Regional Airport and Metra railroad tracks. The blaze was contained to the trailer, which was a total loss, said shift Commander Christopher Howell of the Roselle Fire Department.
“It was fully involved when we pulled up,” Howell said.
Initial reports indicated people may have been trapped inside, but those reports were unfounded, Howell said. No injuries were reported.
A cause hadn’t immediately been determined, but investigators from Roselle and DuPage County remained on scene Friday night, Howell said.
A total of eight area fire departments responded to the blaze.
