Top returning players: Haley Ream (Jr. 5-10 G/F), Abbey Shaw (5-8 Sr. F), Alex Weidner (5-6 Sr. G), Kayla Linthicum (5-7 Sr. F), Kristina Stolzman (5-4 Sr. G), Kelsey Seitz (5-10 Sr. F).

Top newcomers: Sam Andrews (5-10 So. F), Haley Sable (5-8 Jr. F), Amanda Kaniewski (5-6 Jr. G), Maureen Prerost (5-8 Jr. F), Omoyemeh Tseumah (6-0 Jr. F).

Outlook: Huntley, which last season won its fourth regional title in five years, graduated its starting five and top seven players, including leading scorers Kadie Lowery (Hillsdale College) and Carly Goede (Illinois-Springfield). "This season, we have a lot of players on our team stepping into some new roles," Raethz said. "We have some returning players from last season, but not a lot of experience. I think the opportunity is there to be a competitive team this year, but our success lies in how we defend and rebound as a team. In the early part of the season we have been working to develop our cohesiveness and understand our roles within the team. I think as that comes together, I see us getting better as the season goes on. Our cohesion will improve. This team has to focus on intangibles and playing solid defense and doing the little things to put us in positions to win."
