Scouting report: The defending MSL East champs return two starters from a starting lineup that featured Daily Herald all-area team honorary captain Megan Rogowski, who became the first player at Hersey to score more than 2,000 points. The returners are point guard Hall (7.2 ppg, 2.5 rebounds with 63 assists and 15 3-pointers) and forward Hogen, who scored in double figures 13 times last season with a personal best of 15 against Elk Grove. "To have a point guard and post player back is a good foundation," said Hersey coach Mary Fendley, the dean of MSL East coaches with a career record of 274-132. "Corinne Busby really played quite a bit last year so we have a lot of high expectations for her as well." Rogowski (2,365 career points) averaged 23.5 points last year. "We obviously had a lot of scoring with Megan last year but hopefully everyone will pick it up to compensate for that loss of points," Fendley added. "I think everyone on the roster right now can contribute. After those three (Hogen, Hall and Busby), I think we have a lot of kids who can give us quality minutes. We have a lot of kids looking good and working hard to earn playing time. It looks like the conference is very even. Everyone has solid players back so I think it will be pretty competitive."
