Scouting report: Third-year varsity players Wilbut and Millison give the Mustangs a great starting point as they defend the Gold title and seek a deeper postseason run. Wilbut averaged 15.5 points and Millison, who will play more point guard this year, averaged 9.7. Honn, at 6-foot-4, is a third returning starter. Newcomers fill the other roles for the Mustangs including Cannon, a potent scorer, and Spinnuza, a gifted ballhandler, in the backcourt. There are questions inside, especially with Nick Vanek out with an ACL injury. If the Mustangs find an answer in the post, they’ll be a state contender. “We have a little chip on our shoulder because we feel we could have gone further last year,” Baum said.
