Last year: 9-18, 2-10, tied for sixth in West Suburban Silver; lost 69-65 to Plainfield North in Class 4A Bolingbrook regional quarterfinals.

Scouting report: With Norton and Tierney, who broke his leg, out for the early part of the season, the Trojans will be down two starters. Depth’s an issue, as is the Trojans’ ability to score with diversity. As it stands now, Mahlke is the lone returning starter. At 6-foot-7, he’ll be leaned on quite a bit to provide a post threat and knock down some jumpers. Blake, Henson and Skirgaila need to be strong on the perimeter to take the pressure off Mahlke inside. Edwards looks to make an impact as a freshman. “Even with the adversity we’ve had we’re far ahead with this group right now,” Thomas said. “We’ll need some guys to step up.”
