Vernon Hills 57, Lake Forest Academy 27: Sydney Smith scored 23 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and collected 2 steals to lead Vernon Hills to a victory in opening round action of the Vernon Hills Cougar Classic. Meri Bennett-Swanson added 14 points and 4 rebounds for the Cougars while Brie Bahlmann had 6 rebounds, 5 steals and 2 assists and Lauren Webb had 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists.
