Further evidence of incoherent thought

I took some heat a short while ago for asking a question that went something like this: “Are liberal/progressives incapable of coherent thought, or are only those who have difficulties with coherent thought the ones who become liberal/progressives?”

I could have just as easily used the words “logical thinking” in place of “coherent thought.”

Ever since hearing gripes about what I’d said, I began watching for more evidence. Let me tell you, it’s out there. A good example showed up in the form of a letter in the Daily Herald, in which the writer seems confused about the mandate to purchase health insurance, Obamacare, when everyone knows we have to buy auto insurance.

The government does not mandate your purchase, and use of, an automobile. If you do not have one, you need no insurance. It’s only when you choose to buy and drive one that the insurance issue comes up. Point of interest: even then, the government “mandate” requires only liability insurance so that you and/or your insurance provider can take care of situations that are deemed to be your fault. All other insurance is optional.

I wonder ... if Obamacare mandated coverage similar to auto insurance, maybe it would be a lot cheaper, considering the fact that we’d only have to take care of those we were found guilty of “contaminating” with some disease or other. Furthermore, the greater the chance of any individual doing so would affect the cost of his/her premium. Are you sure you want to go there?

Why is this so difficult for these people?
