'Food for Fines' until Nov. 15 at Gail Borden

Gail Borden Public Library in Elgin is offering its "Food for Fines" program through Tuesday, Nov. 15.

Bring canned food to the main library, 270 N. Grove Ave. in Elgin, or the Rakow branch, 2751 W. Bowes Road in Elgin, to have your overdue fines waived.

For every can you bring in, $1 in overdue fines will be waived. The collected food will be donated to area food pantries. Charges for lost materials will not be included. Please remember, no pop, dented cans or expired food.
