Barrington fire district honors memory of longtime employee
Barrington Countryside Fire Protection District trustees officially dedicated a commemorative paver brick honoring the late Nancy Kay Fidler and her 27 years of service to the district during a ceremony last week at Barrington Memorial Park. Fidler, who served as executive assistant to Barrington Fire Chief James Arie, died in April at 58 years old after a long battle with cancer. The brick's inscription reads, “Our sincere thanks to Nancy Fidler for 27 years of distinguished service from 1983 to 2011 to the Barrington Countryside FPD. Arie described Fidler as “loyal, dedicated and a consummate professional whose work ethic was second-to-none. Nancy served the community with pride and honor. She left her mark on everything she did.”
