Join Lombard Veterans' Day ceremony Nov. 11

LOMBARD, Illinois— Lombard Village President William J. Mueller reminds residents to attend the Veterans' Day ceremony on Friday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m. at the Volunteer Plaza located at the southwest corner of Main Street and St. Charles Road.

In an effort to remember the outstanding courage and commitment to freedom made by our veterans, Mueller invites all residents, especially local scout troops and families to join with him, the American Legion Post 391 and the VFW Post 5815 to say “thank you” to our veterans.

“Veterans' Day is a day to pay tribute to the nation's veterans who have served our country and lost their lives for the freedom that we enjoy each day,” said Mueller.

Public parking is available in the municipal lot behind Morning Star Books and Gifts in downtown Lombard or any commuter lot as well as nearby street parking.

For residents who are unable to attend the ceremony, Mueller encourages them to stop whatever they are doing at 11 a.m. on Veterans' Day to remember veterans in a special way at that time.

Scout troops of all kinds are invited to attend. Anyone interested in participating, or with questions regarding the event, please contact Kate Burke, Communications Specialist, at (630) 620-3083.
