Cambium Networks splits from Motorola Solutions
SCHAUMBURG -- Cambium Networks has split from its former parent company, Motorola Solutions Inc., and its beginning as an independent provider of wireless broadband products, services and solutions.
“The demand for high-speed connectivity is exploding around the world,” said Phil Bolt, CEO of Cambium Networks. “As an independent company, Cambium Networks becomes a nimbler, more focused and more aggressive organization dedicated to helping our customers and partners take full advantage of the continuing growth of wireless broadband.
“Although this is our first day as a new company, Cambium Networks is hardly a newcomer to the broadband industry,” Bolt added. “We’re the providers of the most respected and widely deployed point-to-point and point-to-multipoint solutions in the business. Even as we begin independent operations, we currently have installed networks in more than 150 countries. Supporting those deployments is a highly seasoned team of wireless, IP and RF propagation professionals whose combined experience runs into the thousands of years in the industry.”
Vector Capital, a private equity organization, purchased the company from Motorola Solutions and intends to operate the business as a standalone firm.
